- Reveal all the better options there may be when making decisions

- Have a will to succeed, do this because you WANT to do it, not just because you think you have to
One of the most important factors regarding time management is to learn to plan ahead. From time to time, being successful with time management has to do with being able to put in more time just at the outset if you would like to gain some organizing in your lifestyle. Even though a lot of the time management lessons and books are different in their way of suggesting changes, many will agree in saying that the first and most important step is to organize and take control in the workplace or at home. This even goes for those of you that have a well planned schedule, but a messy and unorganized filing system, you cannot be half-organized as then you will be wasting your time by trying to do your work efficiently in a place that is disorderly.
Once you have successfully purged, cleaned and totally reorganized your office or home, what you should do next is take a closer look at the activities you have scheduled for the week. Everything you do during the week, where you spend every second of every day needs to be recorded, whether it is traveling, showering, getting dressed, making phone calls, attending meetings, cooking, cleaning the house, busy with the children and eating meals. This all needs to be accounted for and you also need to make time for yourself to relax, go out, exercise and just do for something for yourself.
When you have made up this schedule, you will notice that there is probably hardly any time left for sleeping. In this case, you will have to look through your schedule and eliminate, modify and delegate some of the activities you find are not as important as the others.
